John Evans | QOL Quality of Life

TESTIMONIALS

A few words from some happy customers..

I was introduced to John by my Yoga teacher, who knew I was looking for a trainer with John’s depth of experience and professional qualifications to help me exercise despite my long-standing back problem.

That was 18 months ago, and John and I have been working together once a week since then, during which time he has helped me to lose more than 10kg and to significantly improve my overall strength and fitness.

Most importantly, John’s expert attention to my form and posture when I’m working with weights gives me the confidence I need to strengthen my core and lower back without fear of hurting myself. My back problems have been alleviated by my improved strength in and I’m certain I would not have been able to achieve that training on my own. An added bonus has been the holistic care I have received from John and a very good physiotherapist who is part of his professional network, with both of them working together to ensure that I have received the very best advice and treatment when needed!

There’s always plenty of variety in our sessions, with a good mix of strength and cardio, and John tweaks and adapts my workouts as needed to reflect the progress I’m making under his supervision. He also encourages me to regularly attend Pilates, Spin, and Yoga classes, and do the “homework” he gives me, to fully complement the work we do together.
I’ve no hesitation in recommending John to anyone looking for an experienced, results-oriented trainer to provide sound advice and support on the journey to better health and fitness.

John (Evans) has been my trainer for 5 years. He has transformed the way I train, I now derive maximum benefit and satisfaction from the time committed.

The programme he has built is designed for me and meets my specific requirements.

Having spent 25 years working with personal trainers I have become a bit of an expert as well as a critic.

Over the last 4 years I have worked with John Evans in a difficult environment of constant travel (long haul travel every other week) , fatigue and stress. He has delivered significant improvements in fitness for a client in his mid fifties who is constantly fatigued and suffering from an old injury. John helped me to strengthen the muscle around the injured area, materially reducing its impact on my performance.

John has extensive experience and encyclopaedic knowledge of human physiology. His expertise in fixing and improving the body without breaking it, is unparalleled. It is really this judgment and focus that puts him so far ahead of his competitors.

As a result of working with John I am able to continue walking the Hills rather than just talking in the pub to those who do.

A word to the wise , always go to the person who is teaching other people in the same profession.

John is a fantastic trainer and a great guy!

I was recommended him by my physiotherapist in central London and John has transformed my strength and fitness. Suffering from a rare muscle condition we had to be careful with how he trained me, but he got the results and I have never felt better in myself. He is so patient and puts a lot of thought into your training programme. I cannot thank you enough my Welsh friend!

My first introduction to John was when I attended his boxing class over five years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I began training with John soon after to see if he could help with my lower back problems.

Not only does John have extensive experience and professional qualifications he also looks after his clients and ensures that they get the correct training, encouragement and support. This is especially important when recovering from injuries and most appreciated as it can be depressing during the rehabilitation process.

John introduced me to an excellent physiotherapist and worked with her to aid my recovery from a torn calf muscle.

Another class John encouraged me to attend was Yoga to complement the boxing and so that I could learn to stretch and relax more. I wasn’t convinced at first but trusted John’s judgement and now am a convert and enjoying the benefits of being more supple and flexible.

Starting from basics exercises to correct the lower back issues caused by muscular imbalance, John has helped me improve my posture, core strength, overall strength, cardio fitness and boxing techniques. During weight training, John will focus on posture and technique that once mastered naturally allows you to lift more with confidence.

Unlike some personal trainers, John does not make training uncomfortable and push you towards failure or injury by setting unrealistic targets.
After each training session I am provided with a set of exercises to practice so I am constantly progressing. John will listen to you and tailor fun and challenging training sessions according to your requests and what is realistic from his experience.

Without John’s supervision and training I would not be as healthy, happy and strong. I really appreciate his help and expert advice.

I would not hesitate in recommending John to those who would like a caring and experienced personal trainer.

I walked into the gym 4 years ago, after accepting an offer to participate in a white-collar boxing match. Having not boxed for over 20 years and being out of shape I was looking for a trainer and was directed to John.

He took me under his wing and trained me to a point, where I felt comfortable with stepping in the ring with a chap half my age who had been boxing very regularly. Suffice to say not only did I participate, but I also won the fight. I have continued to train with John ever since, especially knowing I may get the urge to do it again!

I have been working with John for the best part of 5 years. I initially started training with him to lose weight and get toned but he´s helped me with so many things, improving my overall fitness & stamina, coaching me for white collar boxing matches as well has helping me recover from a shoulder injury.

I first met John after attending his lunchtime boxing classes and having got to know him a little, thought he would be a great fit for a Personal Trainer. He´s very friendly, patient and extremely knowledgeable across many sporting disciplines. It was a great decision as John has been a fantastic trainer and has become a good friend too.

With John’s advice and training regime, I lost over 25kgs in weight. During the pandemic, John would meet me outdoors to help me continue to train. When I haven’t been able to visit the gym, he has sent me home workouts to do and when I moved abroad, he stayed in touch and sent me various training sessions to help me keep on top of my fitness.

Besides helping me lose weight, John was instrumental in helping me train for various white-collar boxing fights. He would work up an 8-to-10-week training plan building up my strength and stamina to be in peak performance come fight night. Beyond fitness and stamina, John would take me for pad works outs to perfect punching combinations and get my footwork up to scratch.

For the last fight I can honestly say that I was in the best shape of my life at 39 years old. Not only that, but John also went the extra mile to make sure he was in my corner for the fight to help keep me calm and focused.

I can´t recommend John highly enough, I really enjoyed training with him and was very pleased with the results.
