About John Evans - Quality of Life

John Evans is a personal trainer living and working in London. He has been providing high quality training to clients over the last 20 years.

John is a graduate of King’s College London with a BSc (Hons) physiology. He also holds qualifications in Diabetes and Obesity (Active IQ), Exercise Referral (CYQ) and has achieved qualifications with the respected American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM HFI and ACSM Cancer Trainer). He is a professional member of Cimspa an associate member of UKSCA (UK Strength and Conditioning Association) and a member of Fit Pro and UK Active.

John has background in sports including school’s athletics and football. He is a former amateur boxer and played club rugby in Wales, Australia, New Zealand and at London Welsh RFC. He has completed both the New York and London marathons.

In a career spanning over 25 years John has undertaken a full range of training projects, working mostly on a one-to- one but also delivering group exercise and now online training.

His clients have included elite level sports people in the field of sailing, cricket and motor racing including world champions. He has prepared recreational athletes for endurance events like marathons, triathlons and cycling events, minimising injury risk, and guiding man to personal best times. He has also consulted on fitness with Essex and Surrey County cricket clubs and is currently works on developing strength and conditioning programmes for age-grade rugby players.

John has increasingly specialised in working with people with a range of challenging medical conditions including MS, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, and cancer. He has helped clients through challenging periods of rehabilitation following significant injury or illness. These include hip and knee replacement, knee reconstruction, spinal decompression, coronary bypass, and angioplasty. His own research has been published in the Journal of applied Physiology.

John is also an experienced educator within the fitness industry. He is a fully qualified teacher and assessor (PGCE from UCL, Institute of Education). For 10 years he has been tutoring and assessing fellow fitness professionals. This has included teaching short courses at St Mary’s University and as a consultant with Comera Movement Science where he has gained extensive experience with their elite movement screening system TPM (The Performance Matrix).

This parallel career in education has seen John collaborate with fellow trainers and strength and coaches, physiotherapists, nutritionists and assorted medical professionals.

It is these collaborations that inspires him set up QOL Training with the aim to deliver high quality training that is enhanced by the ability draw on the skills and experience of a network of associated professionals to get exceptional client results.
